SEASONS GREEN-INGS: ECO CHRISTMAS ALL WRAPPED UP

Planglow has some quirky gift wrapping ideas for caterers this Christmas, suggesting they may like to save time and the environment by wrapping smaller gifts in the same way as their sandwiches, salads and snacks! Utilising just some of Planglow’s fully biodegradable and home compostable products; a salad box has been transformed into a ‘hat pack’; the tortilla rolled socks lend new meaning to the term ‘stocking fillers’; and the underwear stuffed ‘bloomer pack’ remains true to its name though, not as intended!

Whilst light hearted suggestions, Planglow’s gift wrapping ‘tips’ aim to highlight a more serious issue - the millions of tonnes of waste that will be created over the festive period. Bethen Darby spokesperson for Planglow commented: “Waste is an almost unavoidable and, in many cases, necessary part of modern life and levels will once again rise significantly over the festive period - from paper to tins, plastics to food.

“With this in mind, we are encouraging caterers to ‘stay green’ this Christmas and continue to reduce waste wherever they can by utilising the products and initiatives available to them. Using bio packaging like ours and offering customers doggy boxes are both simple and cost effective measures. Purchasing an industrial composter can be a great longer term plan too. And if, on occasion, caterers want to get a little creative with our products and further reduce landfill, well that’s all the better by us!”

Planglow raise over £1,000 for local charity!

Headed by account manager Jamie Fascione and customer services representative Charlie Wright, six of Planglow’s finest took part in the Bristol Half Marathon to help raise money for a local charity. NACOA are committed to providing services for children of alcohol dependent parents. The charity offers information, advice and support to both children and the professionals that help them.
